A referrer is the URL of the page from which a visitor arrived at your website. If someone clicks a link on Twitter and lands on your site, the referrer is Twitter. Direct traffic (typing your URL directly or clicking a bookmark) has no referrer. GhostlyX reads the HTTP Referer header to attribute traffic sources without any personal data.
